At Hoosier Donkey Rescue & Sanctuary, every donkey has a story. Many come to us after experiencing neglect, hardship, or uncertainty, and our farm is where they finally get to feel safe, calm, and loved.

Because their well-being always comes first, visits to the sanctuary are limited and thoughtfully planned. This helps us protect their routines, reduce stress, and ensure every interaction is gentle and positive — for both our donkeys and our guests.

💛 Monthly Sponsor Days

Sponsor Days are some of our favorite days of the month.


These special visits are reserved for the incredible people who support our mission by sponsoring a donkey. It’s a chance to walk the farm, spend meaningful time with the donkey(s) you help care for, and see firsthand the impact your kindness makes.

🌻 Open Farm Days

On select dates throughout the year, we open our gates to the community for Open Farm Days.


These days are designed to share our mission, introduce our donkeys, and help others understand what rescue and sanctuary life is all about. It’s a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, and animal lovers to connect with our work in a meaningful way.


Donation:
$10 per person
$40 per vehicle maximum

Open Farm Days may be held on the same day as Sponsor Days, during a separate time window. Dates, times, and registration details will be announced on our website and social media.

🐴 Scheduled Private Farm Visits

For those seeking a quieter, more personal experience, we also offer private farm visits by appointment.


These visits are perfect for supporters, potential adopters, or anyone who would like to spend intentional time learning about our rescue and the donkeys who call it home.

* All paperwork and waivers are completed before arrival
* A visit fee will apply (pricing coming soon)

🤍 A Few Important Notes Before You Visit

To keep our donkeys safe and comfortable, we kindly ask that all visitors follow these guidelines:

  • Visits are by appointment only (no walk-ins)
  • All guests must sign a liability waiver
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times
  • No dogs or outside animals allowed on the property
  • Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended
  • Please remember that many of our donkeys come from difficult backgrounds and may need space, patience, and gentle interactions
